25 juli Life in JulyOkay, here I go
Main gripe of July
Parking - Why can't people learn to park? Legally!!!
Driving in Construction Zones - There is a reason to drive the posted limit - Can we say WRECK
Skunks - Really should they be out during the day?
Geese - Still pooping everywhere.... The dogs are really working
Road Trips - I really need one.....
Rain - I keep forgetting my umbrella
Age - Lisa I have stopped getting older..
Well I will discuss this later - Keith cooked so I am getting a snack... 30 april I am still aliveI am still alive and will blog about my driving adventure to Texas this week. 30 april Phoebe and Joey are backPhoebe and Joey made a surprise visit last evening. It was right after the sun went down and they wandered through my yard. Joey (he was snorting) and Phoebe checked out the newly mowed grass and then wandered into the field next door. My friend who was hanging out with me went and got Mark so he could see them. We watched them wander around for about 15 minutes and then they went into the woods. Yep - Phoebe and Joey are my two new deer that wander through my yard. This was the first time in a long time we actually saw them.
Well late this Sunday Afternoon, Keith (my friend) and I gave up prepping the side yard for re-seeding and we were sitting on the porch when Phoebe and Joey came running through the back yard. Well normally we do not see deer in the back yard at 5ish but we did. It was cool. They are young and fast. Mark was alittle upset that he did not get to see them.
Prepping the side yard, Keith and I have been working this weekend on the yard. We got all the mowing done, and started the prep work to reseed the dead area on the side part of the yard. I went to Walmart today and bought the seed stuff, (Keith knows what it is) and I had bought at the garden center yesterday some flowers to plant in my pots on the back porch. I got the flowers planted today - looking great and purple - and worked more on the yard. We should be done next weekend and it will look great.
Erin has returned and so has Rocky. (bunny and squirel) and a lot of birds.
Well that is my wildlife update. Chat with you later..... 26 april Wed in OhioWell, Ohio was cold this morning. I had frost - yes frost in April - on my car this morning. I really need to have some warm (Stacy Speak in the 90's) weather.
Cruise Note: Airfare is still high, My sister and I have hotel rooms for the day before the cruise - granted those Texas people have plane tickets and I don't - but it least I have a place to stay if I can get there. LOL
What to wear on a cruise. Well I think my family is going to look great and I will look like the bag lady if I can't find a black dress that I want. Hmmm I think I may have to go shopping a few times in Dallas.
Well today I drove to work and watched the idiot drivers (must not be from Texas) swerving all over the road. I mean could these people possibly leave 10 mins earlier and drive like normal people. I don't mean drive the speed limit but just knock out the weaving in and out of the lanes.
Then when I drove home Mr. Statey was riding along with the group I was in and guess what - everyone drove normally for the entire 24 miles on the interstate. Go figure. LOL
I watched the Amazing Race tonight - I am not sure of who should have gone but I did like Fran and Barry. I think it is going to get interesting with all the issues. Althought do not let the dumb partner do the road blocks please.
I am working on another Goose story - just need to get a few more points tomorrow at work. Stay Tuned...
Life in Stacy's World - Cold... 19 april Road KillOkay,
This is a real observation of mine. Road Kill, you see it, some may cause it, most ignore it. The thing I have learned - I was really looking for an interesting Blog this weekend - Road Kill whether it is in Texas, Oklahoma, or Ohio really is close to the same. You have raccoons, possums, skunks, and unknown splats. Yup splats... Okay why are most raccoons on their backs facing you on your side of the road? Possums tend to end pretty flat but you know what it is by the tail. Skunks well you just smell them. So my thinking is that no matter where you are animals are going to cross the road. Well some of them are cute and some are smelly.
Splats - those animal road kills that one has no idea what they were. I have seen a number of splats in many states and now I know that unless I get out of the car and play "Dr. Kay S." I will never really know what they are.
Deer are another story. Ohio is the Deer road kill magnet state. I see more deer here than elsewhere. Although in Texas you have livestock here in Ohio you have deer. I really hate to see what it would do to an SUV.
Canadian Geese, well they do get splattered now and then - the previous blog on the topic covers my feelings.
Turkey's - yep I have actually seen several splattered turkeys. Lots of feathers.....
Armadillos - Texas and Oklahoma only for this - tend to bounce and roll and then lay on the side of the road making the id easy.
Have you ever gotten that tired on a road trip to start naming the road kill - well driving all over the country like I have been known to do you play the game
possum, raccoon, possum, raccoon, raccoon, armadillo, splat, raccoon, possum, deer, splat.... Evil Thing***You Are 36% Evil***
A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well. In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil. Okay - So I am not the nice sister.....hhhmmmm Superhero Answer***Your Superhero Profile***
Your Superhero Name is The Flaming Ant Your Superpower is Invisibility Your Weakness is Tummy Rubs Your Weapon is Your Robotic Throwing Stars Your Mode of Transportation is Segway Okay I took this test.
I am not weak for Tummy Rubs - Actually I hate them
I like the Invisbility and for the Flaming Ant thing - I am allergic to Fire Ant bites hmmmm 10 april Things on a MondayOkay a few blogs ago I complained about my computer at work. Evidently it is still insane and wants more attention than the user can give it. It is a standing joke in the Tec room that the person who is not in the room when my call gets logged has to deal with me. Well, I actually have them all stumped. The minor problem today I knew what that answer was and that was fixed. I rebooted my computer and then I guess it decided not to take the daily dose of Prozac and went bonkers. I got the new computer in Feb and I actually asked for my old one back. Yes it was slow, out of date but it didn't need Prozac....
Deal or No Deal - this is actually a pretty good show. I sometime watch it with my in-laws before I trek on home. Well Ed and I have a standing "guessing" what the deal will be. Tonight again I got with in 3000 of each bid. Not bad.
Trump - Well I guess things never really change... People have a hard time with the truth.
Survivor - Go Terry
Amazing Race - Still to many teams I like - except Arkansas couple
There is not alot going on, just dealing with the general life in Stacy's World. Thinking about what to do next and how to do it.
Well life is great - just planning on taking the laptop to work so I can actually do some work....
:-) 09 april The Sun is OutHello All,
I am off the soapbox. I enjoyed today. The sun was out and I spent a couple of hours outside soaking it in. It felt really good to not only see the sun but to sit in it. Ohio is a fun state. Today a friend helped me get 240 lbs of Red Out which is a water softner that takes the red out of the water. Yep I have a well and it was getting alittle slimmy. So we found out that 6 40lb bags are not enought we really need 8. Also the cats were trying to escape outside - not an easy corralling that we had to do. I now do not have to worry about the slimmy water for at least 2 or 3 months.
I also got the license plates put on the new car and we fixed the light pole. Looked at the yard and decided that it didn't need to be mowed quite yet. Also learned about what I need to spread to get my golf course look back after the frying summer last year.
Also I got gas - must be a blizzard going to hit Ohio 2.56 a gallon.
We went out to have Mexican tonight - okay I actually cooked last night - and what a shock. Mark, who likes everything spicy does not like mexican. Maybe it is because I have the only child that does not like cheese unless it it pepper jack. He likes pizza, but not american cheese... I do not get this weird cheese disliking child. Well I finally found something he will eat at the Mexican Place. Chicken Hard Taco's with nothing but the chicken. The only thing I can think is that I ate toooo much cheese when I was pregnant with him. Who knows.
Mexican Food in Ohio. Okay this is an experience. I have found a half decent place for queso and mild sauce. Its not Mia's but it is good. Okay so I am really looking forward to Texas in June for real Mexican Food.
Well I am going to go to bed now and hopefully will comeup with a great topic for tomorrow night.
Life in Stacy's World - Chaotic and Typical - Sun and No Snow.... LOL I realize I am strongI did some self evaluations this weekend. Russ will be coming home the second week in May. I have missed him alot more than I am probably willing to admit the last 7+ months. I have lost alot of weight - started off as that I was overweight and I needed to tone up abit, then coached basketball and needed to keep up, and then I just lost the rest...
I have learned more about myself in the last months than I did the last time Russ was overseas. He was only gone for each deployment for a max of 4 months. I learned that I can with the help of very good friends who listen, coach and let me rant about everything, I can survive what is thrown at me. I have dealt with snow (my major pet peeve - yes I live in Ohio) work which can place me between the career oriented driven person I am and the concerned parent I needed to be, housework - Russ I still don't dust-, taking care of the house, lawn, the dog that no longer lives in my house, the cats, the cars (buying and selling), money, emotional stability issues and such. I feel that while I joke about life in Stacy's World which can be chaos and unpredicatable, it is a sort of success. While I know my family has always supported me and I appreciate that. I just have realized that with talking to a friend I did a damn good job since Russ was gone.
Nothing against Russ, I just tend to let him control alot of the issues, I was happy just working and not dealing with alot of the home issues. Well that is not a joint marriage. I plan on working together with Russ to ensure that not only we both focus on what matter to almost 40 year olds but to parents as well. I have demonstrated the last 7+ months that I am more than able to thrive in running this household, (yes I still won't dust - inside joke) but I can focus on what matters. I have asked Russ to put his family first and really concentrate on us. I also have agreed that work is important but I need to leave most of it at work. I will control what I am good at and Russ will control what he is good at. Okay - So someone might think that Russ might be able to read this and yes I think he can now. I have a few issues - Stacy's World - that need to be addressed.
1. I actually like my life in Ohio, I have a great job and a terrific family here. Granted both my son and husband sometime take me for granted and in the past I have not stood up and said "WHAT". Okay things are a changing and I am now going to say "WHAT".
2. I like having a house with 1.25 acres of land - except mowing season - but I am not going to try to deal with everything on my own. Two other people live here and I do not need to beg for help - "I am not the Maid or groundskeeper."
3. I work a full 40 hours + a week, so everyone needs to pitch in. I can't be Career Chick, Wife, Mother, Maid, Groundskeeper, Ms. Fix It, Babysitter and whatever else I wear a hat for.
4. I need to have some time away from Stacy's World. Okay I realize I tend to get a little batty with Stacy's World but I need to get some time away.
5. I also need quality time with my husband and my son. In plain terms take me out on a getaway, family getaway or a couple getaway.
6. Just because someone may be sleeping does not mean laundry or dishes can't be done.
7. Friends may come and go, but family never leaves you alone.
8. It takes 2 to make a relationship work so listen to what the other is saying - If someone walks off and shuts the door let them count to 10 before you walk in. Sometimes the truth doesn't sink in right away and it takes the count to realize that maybe you might not be listening.
Okay just so that everyone knows this is not just Russ, it is me as well. I am not the easiest person in the world. I can be extremely stubborn and not listen. I want Stacy's World to turn a new leaf and turn into the D's World - okay honestly H-D's World.
I have talked to Russ about the changes that will be made. I think he agrees to the majority of them but the above points are what I needed to spell out not just for me but for him too. I think any military wife/husband needs support and that they should be encouraged. As I found out I am one of a few in Russ' home based unit who - has a career, is intelligent, supports her husband, and does not call the base all the time. I was totally behind his deployment and it probably helped our marriage.
So off the soapbox and on to more pleasant blogs.... 07 april Canadian GeeseOkay, so now I am complaining LOUDLY. Canadian Geese are the problem.
Flash Back - When I lived in Texas we used to go to Oklahoma and go camping in the mountains. Yes, Oklahoma has mountains (Wichita National Wildlife Refuge outside of Lawton) it was a favorite place of many to go to. Well we used to hike around French Lake especially early season (Feb/Mar) and fall (Nov) and check out the geese. They were pretty flying in the v and flapping their wings. Little did I know.....
Jump to Present - I hate Canadian Geese. Okay so these things are supposed to be endangered. Has any one been to Ohio. Please there are enough here so they are not endangered except by angry females with SUV's. As I have been instructed by security members at my company it is like a $500.00 fine it you run over a goose. Needless to say I really can't afford that with the cruise. The problem is these geese at work are not afraid of anything. They chase people in the parking lot, sit on top of cars and not let you inside (not to me yet), sit down and block the road, walk up the street and stop traffic, and now they are nesting. This means they are really mean now. One mother goose attacked the mulch spreading person this week. Another one has her nest right next to the fence that keeps them off the patio and she hisses at people when they go outside.
The ongoing problem with them all year is that they are an extremely "pooping" species. I mean you have to dodge the droppings everywhere. I am fortunate that we have not seen any on our home property yet. I am used to bird's leaving presents on my nice clean car - always happens - but it is small and white. Not with Canadian Geese. We are talking big (medium size dog size) green (well they do eat grass) and sometimes exploding in size.
Can we please ship the geese back to Canada. I mean with NAFTA, soon to probably need passports and other tariff issues why should we have the privilege of being the only ones who get to "enjoy" these birds. I say lets tranq them and send them back. If you don't tranq them they will beat you back.
I carry a big heavy bag with me for protection in the parking lot now. I also tend to yell at the dumb goose who is sitting in the middle of the drive at work. Usually I am on the phone with my mom who thinks this is funny. Last week one almost flew into my SUV. UGH....
Well over the years I have heard of company's getting permits to "shake" the eggs and shoot one male goose a day. Okay, I have been working in the same place for 5.5 years and looking at the geese - how can you actually tell when they are flying which is a male? Do they only fly on the right or left side of the v?
So, can we get Congress to look into shipping back the Canadian Geese? Maybe start talks with our neighbors to the south and see if they would be interested in taking some in. Also, I really want to meet the lucky person who goes and shakes the eggs. Hmmm Job Opportunity - has to pay alot for all the pecking that they must take........
Warning to All those Texans who will choose to move to Ohio - I have been informed that - "No, you can't kill them, trap them or call the police to remove them. Just learn to deal with them." Helllooooo, if one comes after me look out - I am just going to close my eyes and swing that big bag..... and scream.... 29 maart Weight LossWell I had a fantastic lunch today. It would have been a perfect day in Stacy's World except that my computer at work went nuts this afternoon, and then tonight I took the Nerd, Geek, Dork quiz. (See previous blog for that info)
I went shopping at Eddie Bauer. This is the one place I can find pant/jeans that are long enough for my legs.
Well I have been on a reduced carb, cut down on the wine (yes Lisa both the bottle and box types), drinking Mich Ultra (really like the beer) and not eating big meals late at night. Also my stint as basketball coach got me running and exercising more. Basically watching what I eat, drink and how I run around in the World known as Stacy's World I have lost weight.
Everyone at work and my friends have been telling me that I "look great", "Lost alot of weight", "how much more are you planning on loosing" etc... well I knew I lost some weight but when I look in the mirror I really didn't see it. Well today I needed pants. Funny thing is if you put your pants in the dryer and use high heat they shrink. Yup I know not to do that again Mom... I was trying not to have to iron. Well, I knew my size 10 jeans were to big so I thought I was in an 8. Nope I was in a 6. The last time I wore size 6 was in my early 20's (the pre Mark years) Cool, well at the end of the day at work, I went and put on my new jeans, everyone was like "that's how you should look in jeans - not big baggy ones" and so on.
Note to self - while you feel better when you loose the weight take people who see you everyday seriously when they say you have lost alot of weight.
I also bought a new belt. Needed it since I was banging holes into the other one with a nail and hammer. Concrete gargage floors are pretty good for that...LOL
I am excited that Russ will be back in May and can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees me in size 6 jeans.....I am excited about all the new clothes I can now buy and the cruise clothes that I can buy. Still you will not catch me in a bikini or thong so don't worry I can look like the conservative nerd/geek/dork that I evidently am per the test.
So while I was planning to blog on where to sit on an airplane, cruise hotel, and the status of our flights - this was way better.
One Note to Dad On Stacy's World on Cruising
Dad, althought you said that who ever books the hotel first gets on the port shuttle first, per the hotel, you can sign up for the shuttles at checkin. As the one arriving at 11ish in the morning and you all Texas residents are getting in around 4ish I get to sign us all up at my checkin.........hmmmmm - a little snickering going on....More to come as I ponder this situation....
Stacy's World is almost at a new day.... Place nice, smile to someone, and hold a door for that coworker running in the rain/snow/sunshine... Remember your life is in your control - control your life - and you will control your destiny... Original thought from Stacy 84% Nerd, 72% Geek, 30% Dork -QuizOkay I took the quiz....... Yup I am a nerd. Well big surprise, this is the person who would love to go back and get her master's degree - if I could decide what I want to do when I grow up....LOL....because I like school and actually enjoyed finishing my bachelor's degree. Granted I learned some things but work experience is worth alot more in my opinion.
I can sort of agree with the geek part - just not that high unless shopping is an obscure subject area. I am a little anal about certain tv shows, new toys (I research alot of things online and then I don't buy them) and I did write a paper in High School about how the US currency was created - yep I found it interesting the class thought it was boring. I am a shopper. If there was a degree - masters of science of shopping - I could have a 4.0 and graduate in record time.
Dork - Please I do not consider myself a dork. Yes, I always have a book with me, I read all the time, I drive people nuts reading, but I like people as long as they do not drive me nuts with trival droning on nonsense... hmmmm
For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations! Yes the test results are:
My test tracked 3 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
26 maart Answers to Lisa's Cruise Points and Stacy's Cruise PointsOkay, I thought of adding this as a comment on Lisa's blog for Mom's Rules on a cruise. Really thought about it and decided it was safer (I am the one who tends to get in trouble for voicing her opinion) to just blog it on my space.
Mom's rules for cruising by Lisa - incorrect statements and additional information
Dictionary
FLL = Fort Lauderdale
CAK = Akron/Canton
PIT = Pittsburgh
CLE = Cleveland

JEWELRY BLING
I only wear rings on four fingers. Granted one finger has as of today three rings. That is my current wedding set. Yes it is a major bling and I like it. I feel that diamonds are a girl's best friend and I wear all 9 of them on that finger proudly. I am thinking that a new less diamond count anniversary band will be appropriate for the cruise, just haven't bought one yet. I wear a colored stone with tiny diamonds on the sides on another finger on that hand. On my other hand, I tend to wear a "right hand ring" that yes has diamonds and another ring that has a colored stone with yes diamonds on the sides. So technically I have 6 rings on 4 fingers but 3 of them are soddered together. I do wear earings, a necklace, a watch and occasionally a braclet. I tend to like diamonds and I now realize that I have alot of them.
MAKEUP
I think the message that was trying to be relayed was that all females over the age of 16 (meaning all the females in our party) need to look good when initially boarding the ship. Makeup is used to enhance the natural beauty and to mask any flaws that might have popped up. (pimples, freckles, etc) While I wear quality makeup, I do not pancake it on. I wear shades that just enhace the way I look. Remember that this is a mass photo undertaking and unlike DMV where mom can demand retakes, we probably only get one chance. Since we are arriving the day before we leave, there will be plenty of time in the morning to eat breakfast, curl your hair, enhance your beauty with makeup to ensure a gorgous photo that will be placed in the photo id hall of fame, dress in business casual that will allow us to be whisked on ship before all those "poor americans" or "bag lady's" on the cruise, and for those with small children and grown husbands to have them change their clothes again since they are now wearing whatever they were snacking on while you got ready for the last three hours.
LUGGAGE
Luggage is a whole other topic that has not been addressed. What is to much and what is not enought. A major part of my luggage is either soft luggage with wheels or old hard American Tourister with no wheels. As a frequent flyer on two different airlines, I have had both types lost. I have also traveled with so much luggage that it is entertaining to those other passengers watching a female get creative with that many pieces. I am unable to fly to Dallas for the weekend without the maximun number of bags with me. The last trip I actually brought more home than I left with. It was only $50.00 for that extra bag. In packing for a cruise you want to make sure that all the valuable, can't replace it, and emergency clothes are in your carryon. Also it is good practice to divide the clothes up in each suitcase. Split alll the family's clothes and shoes up so that if one bag is lost you can still function. By the way, do not pack all your shoes in one case. Just trust me on that one. I buy the really big ziplock bags (sams's club) and gallon bags and place almost everything in them. Remember TSA will probably search you bags. I always tend to have at least one it not both of my bags searched. That way they can see what they need to and not touch your clothes.
What to bring, on any trip you always want to leave plenty of room for additional stuff that you know your going to buy on a trip. I am going to try to bring an empty suitecase just for that stuff. Also instead of checking that empty bag, or packing it inside of another suitecase, split some more of your clothes so that it betters your odds that some of your luggage will actually arrive with you. According to what I have read, make sure your cruise tags are on your luggage. The airlines have started priority baggage service for certain customers. US military members taking US airline transportation to Military transport connections are now having their bags tagged priority. When you check in, make sure to tell the check in attendant that you are traveling on a cruise - don't say when it leaves- I guarantee you the attendant in CAK will not know if the cruise leaves today or tomorrow - and you will have a priority handling tag added. It will cost the airline more to get the bag to you than to have someone elses bag taken off and later deliver it to that someone who lives in the US. This is what they are doing so ask at the airport. Also if you use curb side check in tip. If you want your luggage to arrive in FLL make sure you tip at the start. I have checked in three hours before a flight and my bag didn't make it. I have check in 30 min before my flight and my bag made it. There is no reasonable logic as to what is on the flight.
STACY LOGIC ON CRUISES
My thoughts on this cruise.... I am going with a large group of family, three people have done this before; I am there to enjoy a vacation and not to bug people (except for the time it takes to get onboard); I will see my family at dinner; I will dress nice for dinner; I will wear makeup; I will wear sunscreen; I will not wear enough bling to light up the ship; I will not wear a bikini; I will relax and decompress; I will not pitch a hissy fit because something is not to my liking; I will not diet, watch carbs, watch calories while I am on the trip; and I will ride a horse in the ocean/sea.
Cruises are what you make of them. I have checked out all the sites I could find to inform myself of what can go wrong. I read the CDC's latest inspection for the ship, plus several previous ones. I also looked at other cruise lines to read the really bad scores to see what that entails. I also looked up various complaints and lawsuits to see what could happen. I am happy that Holland America does not have nearly as many bad things as other lines. Most of what I found was positive. With the recent fire, deaths and such I am confident that I am on a safe ship, have safe shore excursions and kinda know what I am going to do.
I am planning on having a terrific time and I am not going to stress about the cruise. I still need to go and buy a suit for Mark, one for Russ, and that little black dress for me. That is the best part about planning the cruise - the pre-cruise shopping spree.
My Mom looks at the cruise books what they want and relaxes until its time to book excursions; My sister looks at the cruise books what they want, pays for it, wants to book everything then and questions things; I looked at the cruise, talked to my husbands civilian employer, begged for him to be off, resent the email detailing the cruise to my husband 5 times, sent him the HAL book on the cruise, got all the time off, booked the cruise, fussing over airline tickets - not paying that much, looking at flying from PIT - not liking the drive, looked at flying from CLE - snow anyone, so back to CAK and waiting for the price to go down. Kinda planned some excursions, looked into the worst case senarios, Stated Loudly I AM NOT DRIVING TO FLL. Well with all the different types of personalities in the family this ought to be one really great cruise or the last vacation my mom and dad ever mentions to us beforehand.LOL
In the next blog we will cover what not to wear, where to sit on an airplane, the status of my airplane flight search, hotel in FLL and any other issues I can create.
Life in Ohio Today - Snowing and cold - Not Sticking
12 maart Is it Spring?Well, Its 62 and cloudy but its warm. This should last for tomorrow and then back to the 30's. I am enjoying it while I can...... Gotta Go and Do Stacy's World stuff...... 26 februari Life in OhioHi All,
Well Basketball is over..... I survived and will probably do it again next year.
Mark & I spent the weekend working on a report on JFK. Yes I remembered all the Dallas stuff. Mark was impressed. Its finally done..
I worked on taking video to CD - messed something up and will try again tomorrow. To much JFK on the brain.
Well Ed waxed my SUV yesterday. Told me it was like doing two cars... It looks great. I bought Russ a new "used" car so he should be happy. I am now the queen of 7 week oil changes. I drive more here than I did in Dallas.
We are going on a cruise this year. This ought to be a blast. Shopping at new islands - too cool. Warm and Sun - yippeee
20th Reunion this summer - Not sure if I really want to go and listen to Biffy and company. I will trek to Dallas, just not sure if I will make it past the first event....
Dog and Cats are cool.
Speaking of cool its cold. Yep an Alberta Clipper hit again so we are cold and have snow - sun - melted snow - snow - sun - melted snow .... nothing really staying around yet but its like driving thru mosquitos in Oklahoma.
We have a new music thing being piped in at work. It reminds me of Dallas. The only problem I have is trying to translate the Spanish songs (about 3 an hour). I am going back to the land of headphones......
Well thats my life in the organized chaos known as "STACY'S WORLD"
Stay Warm, Stay Dry, - So Stay out of Ohio
Stacy
12 januari Is is spring???Hello All,
Well it is actually nice in Ohio. We were in the 50's today and right now it is 47. I actually saw people golfing today. It feels alittle bit like Texas. Well Basketball is going well, only 3 injuries in practice today. I need to by some stock in ice packs. LOL... I am going to go back to Ikea this weekend. I bought 2 bookcases, 4 chairs, dishes, 3 lamps and a bunch of other stuff last weekend. I put the bookcases together and realized that I needed 2 more. So my sister-in-law Beth is going with me and Mark on Saturday. Mark is 'for sure' charging the game boy this time. Also wanting to know why mom has to go to PA to shop. He did see some stuff he wants. I am thinking about a dishwasher and talked to a carpenter today. Gotta save some more money but it will happen before summer.
Life in Stacyville is cool and comfy - I didn't need gloves today. Hope all is well and have a terrific day....
05 januari The snow is backOh great. The white stuff is falling from the sky again. I am not impressed or happy. We have been above freezing lately so all the snow melted. Well looking at the weatherbug it will snow thru the weekend. I am still holding out hope that I can go to PA on Sunday.
Basketball practice was fun. I only got beamed on the head once - Mark did try several other times. I am looking forward to our game this Saturday.
I went shopping yesterday to Walmart. I got those new halogen light bulbs and now I really miss Russ. I am going to have to dust since I can now see it. LOL Honestly the bulbs are brighter and hopefully will last longer.
Gas went up today to 2.39 - why, is the hurricane zeta supposed to hit ohio? It will go down tomorrow most likely right after I fill up.
Well life is fun in the snow and spring is only like 5 months away - A trip to the Big D is needed. I think Mark and I may go soon. Warm, Sun, Hot Tub, Shopping at Willow Bend, spiral steaks... hmmm note to self call Delta. Oh yeah also call the limo service since no one likes to pick me up at DFW since most of the time my flight is delayed. The last time I went to Dallas my mom had the car service pick me up and guess what I actually got in a couple of minutes early.
I am getting upset with the cruise line. It is now January and no schedules for summer are out. I have to plan summer vacation and I do not like to wait on that. I am still looking at South Carolina and North Padre. Not sure of what I am going to do.
Well life in Stacy's World is normal - organized chaos. 03 januari Fun Stuff at my houseHello All,
Well I was able to hook up Mark's new computer and log onto the internet with no problem. Russ is staying over there alittle longer so I bought him a flash drive thingy -1 gb is what he wanted. I will ship that next week. I bought the same thing my dad did to move the old videos off of VHS and onto DVD. I also think this will work to send stuff to Russ.
Okay life in Stacy's world. I am the third grade boys CYO basketball coach. No one else wanted to step up so I did. Okay you can stop laughing on the floor now. I am having a great time and the kids are really terrific. There is no score in the third grade so (all parents keep score) but we are doing exceptionally well.
More life in my world. Christmas is almost over. Yes I know its January, we have one more get together this month and then when Russ is home we have another. Gotta go shopping again.
Today I went to my local meca. I went to staples. I bought the flash drive, more burnable DVD's, paper for the printers - oh note to self order ink cartidges next - highlighters, those eraser things for pencils, and wandered around.
This Sunday as long as it is not a blizzard I am treking to my new PA (Pennsylvania) meca (Not the shoe store the size of Lowes) Ikia. I am buyig chairs and whatever else I need that I can actually fit in the Ford Explorer. For those that remember I bought a dish drainer in Dallas and couldn't fit it in my suitcase. This time I have a bigger container in the Explorer. If I still have money after Ikia, I might stop at the shoe meca. Shoes - yes I need more shoes - lol.
Well, life is snow free right now and its 42 degrees outside.
Oh yes the dog. Baby is back - she was dropped off while I was at work in November. She now has a large cage that she stays in during the day while I am at work and seems to do much better while I am gone. She now 100% legal. I found a kennel last month and she enjoyed her vacation while I was in Columbus. The rates are reasonable and it will work out. So now I can travel without fear and not change to much to have her here. She tried to eat the Fedex Ground driver - Lisa my sister didn't tell me it was coming - and she was in the breezeway in the dark when he walked up and started to open the door. She also managed yesterday to be out in the breezeway when the pizza guy showed up. It was still daylight and he knows she here, so I think I can still get pizza. I am out in the country so there aren't alot of choices for pizza. We shall see if Fedex will come back. No problem with the US mail or UPS yet.
The cats seem to enjoy the dog more now. I think they might be a little like Garfield when I am not here. The new place to sleep for them is ontop of the dryer. I have a stackable. I really haven't figure that out yet. It might be a height complex.
Well I am out of novel stuff for tonight. I am going to play cards for a while on pogo and go to bed.
Love and Peace to All
Stacy aka the texan living in ohio 08 december Its really white outsideWell, I let the dog out - (another blog saga for later) and it is really snowing out there. I am watching the news - no school cancelations as of yet. Poor Mark. hehehehe. I am going to have to clear the driveway with the snow blower in the morning - hey I have 4 wheel drive - could I just step on the gas and get thru - my luck probably not oh well..... I just looked at the weather bug its 29 outside and the radar still shows snow. And yes I did move up here voluntarily. I plan on retiring to the equator if Dallas keeps having ice storms.
Well good night and stay warm. |
